Check-in time on Saturday is from 6:30 to 9 a.m., EDT. Check-in time for Sunday's rides is from 8 to 9 a.m., EDT. The start site is E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park located at 3500 Freys Hill Road in the northeast section of Louisville, Ky. (see map)
Riders will pick up packets at check-in (also available Friday evening). Registration is available the day of the ride, but you can save $10 by registering before midnight August 22nd (save $5 on one-day ride).
Security will be provided for cars left overnight in the park's parking lot, however space is limited so we've made arrangements to also use the overflow lot down the road from the park this year. Riders are encouraged to carpool. Luggage transportation is provided to and from Bardstown.
Riders under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and all riders must complete the mandatory Louisville Bicycle Club safety class before the ride.
Your registration fee includes fresh-hot brewed Heine Bros. Coffee and fresh bagels made by Nancy's Bagels before the ride on Saturday and Saturday's lunch in Fairfield, catered by the Fairfield Boy Scout troop and St. Michael's parish - there will also be a vegetarian option.
Buy a raffle ticket at lunch and take a chance on winning a brand new bike, donated by our Louisville area bicycle shop sponsors, who also provide excellent roving SAG support, if you should need mechanical help with your bike. All proceeds from the bike raffle will benefit the Brain Injury Association of Kentucky.
You'll get plenty of SAG Stop food and drink along the way with fresh fruit and sandwich bread from Breadworks and Lively entertainment will greet you at most SAGs along the way.
When you get to Bardstown, look forward to yoga classes on the lawn by Baptist East Milestone Wellness Center or get a massage courtesy of Preble Chiropractic, from 1 to 4 pm. There'll be a bourbon tasting. There will also be horse drawn carriage rides through beautiful historic Bardstown, sponsored by Byerly Ford-Nissan and enjoy live entertainment underneath the trees at Spalding Hall.
On Sunday, after a hearty breakfast, look forward to the world famous OKHT Cookie Stop SAG with entertainment by Molly McCormackand her dulcimer, plus, the post-ride Tony Boombozz Pizzeria pizza party at Sawyer Park. Every regular registration rider also gets a short-sleeve OKHT T-shirt, available on a first-come basis at registration, along with a goodie-bag full of information from our sponsors.
Note: All riders are invited and encouraged to bring a couple dozen cookies for the famous Cookie Stop on Sunday. With rider participation numbers like we had last year, we need all the cookies we can get !!
Bake 'em or buy 'em. Just bring 'em!
A limited edition commemorative jersey will also be available for purchase. See the Home page for pricing.
A portion of your registration fee also goes to help support the Brain Injury Association of Kentucky. The OKHT has donated approximately $12,000 to BIAK in the last 3 years, thanks to your generosity.
